I. Overview of ZX Self-priming Centrifugal Pumps

The ZX horizontal clean water self-priming centrifugal pump is a type of self-priming pump where the motor is connected to the pump body via a coupling. Its main feature is the self-priming function, eliminating the need for a foot valve in the pipeline. Before operation, it only requires ensuring a fixed amount of priming liquid is stored in the pump body, enabling the "one-time priming, lifelong self-priming" function. It has advantages such as compact structure, convenient operation, stable operation, easy maintenance, high efficiency, and long service life. The pump body and flow-passing components can be made of cast iron or various grades of stainless steel, and the motor can be equipped with a frequency conversion or explosion-proof motor. It is widely used in industrial sectors including petroleum, chemical engineering, metallurgy, machinery, chemical fiber, food, energy, and transportation, for urban water supply, and can also be used for agricultural drainage, irrigation, and sprinkler irrigation. II. Structural Principle of ZX Self-priming Centrifugal Pumps

The pump body of the ZX horizontal clean water self-priming centrifugal pump consists of a suction chamber, a liquid storage chamber, a volute, a liquid return hole, and a gas-liquid separation chamber, adopting an axial liquid return structure. After the pump starts normally, the impeller sucks the liquid stored in the suction chamber and the air in the suction pipeline together, and they are fully mixed inside the impeller. Under the action of centrifugal force, the liquid carrying gas flows toward the outer edge of the volute, forming a white foam belt with a certain thickness and a high-speed rotating liquid ring on the outer edge of the impeller. The gas-liquid mixture enters the gas-liquid separation chamber through the diffusion tube. At this point, due to the sudden decrease in flow rate, the lighter gas is separated from the mixed liquid, and the gas continues to rise and discharge through the pump outlet. The degassed liquid returns to the liquid storage chamber and enters the impeller again through the return hole, mixing with the gas sucked from the suction pipeline inside the impeller. Under the action of the high-speed rotating impeller, it flows toward the outer edge of the impeller again. As this process repeats continuously, the air in the suction pipeline decreases until the air is completely exhausted, completing the self-priming process, and the pump then operates normally.

Some pump bearing bodies also have cooling chambers at their bottoms. When the bearing temperature rises above 70°C due to bearing heat generation, coolant can be injected through any coolant pipe joint at the cooling chamber for circulation cooling. The sealing mechanism inside the pump that prevents liquid leakage from high-pressure areas to low-pressure areas consists of front and rear sealing rings. The front sealing ring is installed on the pump body, and the rear sealing ring is installed on the bearing body. When the sealing rings wear after long-term pump operation, affecting the pump's efficiency and self-priming performance, they should be replaced.
